Playing 'Cops and Monsters'
Nothing like dusting off the cobwebs and getting back to writing. Then again, there's nothing like an extended vacation and getting another mere mortal to do all the hard work... and that's even better when that mortal is none other than the talented Fraser Coull of Scotland's own 'Cops and Monsters' franchise.
I asked Fraser how he got into doing 'Cops and Monsters' and after he shouted 'Stop following me!' he agreed to answer a few questions.
So, how did you get involved with 'Cops and Monsters'?
I got into 'Cops and Monsters' because in around 2015 I was walking around The Film and TV Comic con in Glasgow and realised "There's not much sci-fi from Scotland here" which has always been a bug bear of mine. So I spoke to a friend about it and then went off to write the pilot! It went from there really. Funding the first episode, meeting some new brilliant writers and working with an exceptionally talented group of people since and making our eight brilliant episodes.
What's next for 'Cops and Monsters' then?
Well, I'll let you into a secret. (Hang on... remember you've got to stay ten feet away. ) Right, you
can join the crew of 'Cops and Monsters' as we screen all nine episodes of Series One at 'The Grosvenor' cinema in Glasgow's Westend. Not only that but there will be bonus content for everyone who attends the screening. So there!
"Cops and Monsters" is a supernatural web-series from Scotland - described as "Buffy" meets "Taggart", series 1 follows the Paranormal Investigation Team Scotland (PITS) as they police the supernatural community, made up of vampires, werewolves and zombies, in a near future Scotland. And apart from stalking bloggers, if you were a vampire hunter who would you like to stake?
Ha. Ha! Anybody that comes up to me and says "You made Cops and...I finish the title and then they say "Yeah, I've not watched it" which is infuriating.
On that note, Fraser delved into his coat, decided the interview was not to his Lycan and ran off before I'd finished . As he said, you can catch him at the 'Cops and Monsters' screening but be warned, he's quick!
